A NOTE FROM VESNA
Meet Vesna.
Hi, I’m Vesna, founder of VENA and Women Building Businesses, and a mother of three little girls.
My background spans fundraising, innovation, and marketing, but writing and bringing people together have always been closest to my heart. I changed direction to build my work around those passions, with a purpose I care deeply about: helping women turn their talent into opportunity and income.
Through my Substack community, I saw women with valuable expertise and others searching for the right support to build their businesses. I created VENA, a female business marketplace, to help them find each other.
I love seeing connections lead to something concrete: a first paying client, a problem solved, an idea becoming a business. Every time we invest in another woman’s work, we support her livelihood while building our own future. That is the kind of women’s economy I want to help grow.
Vena means “vein”, reflecting the movement of knowledge, opportunity, and income between women. The name also brings together elements of my three daughters’ names. It holds both what I’m building today and my hopes for the world they will grow up in.
